If you're a fan of historical fiction, especially in the romance category, then we'll get along great!  Okay, so I read more contemporaries than anything, but in my writing life I've been focusing on those eras gone by.  From my published novel set in Biblical Jerusalem and Rome I've traveled in my mind to Victorian England, where my Fire Eyes Trilogy is set, and then forward again to 1920s Chicago.

Don't you just love trying to figure out what total strangers would like to know about you?  I'll try to come up with something interesting.

Let's see.  First off, I'm a writer--you know, one of those who've been writing stories literally since I could write.  I have one novel published by WhiteFire Publishing.  WFP is a small publisher just getting off the ground, for whom I also do some editing.

My other fashionable hat is reviewer.  My husband and I run the Christian Review of Books, which is pretty much what its name says it is.  I read and review tons of books through the CRoB, and I started a column called "Between the Lines" that I've used to alternately rant and rave (the good kind of raving) about the books I read and the topics they bring up.  I'm also getting into conducting author interviews through BtL. Finally, I'm a member of ACFW, too.

And more personally. . . I live in western Maryland with my wonderful hubby David, my gorgeous daughter, Xoë (pronounced like Zoe), and my son, Rowyn. David and I both attended St. John's College in Annapolis, known as the Great Books School, where we read everything from Aristotle to Virginia Wolfe, philosophy to science.  (Guess all those stuffy classics is what has influenced my writing such that everyone apparently thought I was 50!)

Hobbies. . . who has time for them?  Between reading and writing and feeding my ever-hungry family, helping with the CRoB, serving as pianist, music leader, and printer for our fledgling church (Full Gospel Seventh Day Baptist) and occasionally taking time for luxuries like sleeping, I don't have time for much else.  (Just ask the dust bunnies hiding under my couch.)  But on those rare occasions when I do. . . I enjoy baking, painting, and the occasional digital design.  Mostly, though, all spare time is spent reading and writing.
